Wrestler History: After retiring from the NBA in
June of 1996, The Knick Man began training for his wrestling career in
April 1997 in a small regional league known as the EECW, located on the
west coast. Teaming up with a wrestler known as "The Master" Tony
Starks and a tag team known as The New York All Stars, they formed a stable
known as New York's
Finest and did quite well in the league. However, tension developed
between these athletes and The Knick Man eventually left the EECW.
In May of 1997, The Knick Man signed his first major contract with Awesome Simulation Wrestling. One of the most talented rookies ever to enter the ASW, The Knick Man spent the first few months of his ASW career building up his reputation, fueding with the likes of Johnny Payne and others. The Knick Man won his first title in August of 97, winning the ASW Television Championship defeating Hades in a "Belt hangs from rope" Steel cage challenge. He then joined a stable known as Reel Wild Inc and became the longest reigining ASW Television Champion ever.
In October of 1997, The Knick Man was honored by the RSPWF News Group as one of the top 200 wrestlers in the world, placing #74 for his contributions to the ASW. The Knick Man then decided to bring his talents to other leagues. He signed a contract with the Fantasy Wrestling Federation, winning the FWF Television Title in only his second match. This led to the unification of the ASW/FWF Television Titles thus making The Knick Man the Television Champion for both leagues. The Knick Man also signed a deal with the UCWF, winning that leagues Television Title in his debut match! The Knick Man even did a little manegerial work, joining the World Wrestling Organization (WWO) and bringing in a rookie tag team known as Illegal Tactics and leading them to become the first ever WWO Tag Team Champions as well as an athlete known as Stunning Steve Sullivan, leading him to the WWO National Championship.
In November of 97, The Knick Man won his first ever World Championship, capturing the ASW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating "The Franchise" Andru Edwards. He was stripped of this title for political reasons, the week before he was to defend it in December, but then won it back that same week to become a two time ASW World Champion. The Knick Man also won the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship, but a dispute with the league officials caused The Knick Man to leave the league and the WFWF shortly folded afterwards. The Knick Man also left the FWF, UCWF, and the WWO due to time constraints.
For a good portion of 1998, The Knick Man spent his time solely in the AICW and ASW. However, in April he finally retired from the ASW to accept a position as the commissioner of the ASW. In May, he signed a contract to wrestle for the newly formed ICWA as well as Erotic Erin's WWO. In June, he also signed a very lucurative deal with the INWI, a major regional federation in the Northeast. The Knick Man became the first ever ICWA World Heavyweight Champion, in June but unfortunately, in July, the ICWA went out of business. The Knick Man currently wrestles for the AICW, WWO, and the INWI.
Wrestler Profile: Confident, although some say
arrogant, The Knick Man is truly one of a kind. The fans absolutely
adore him, and he is a true entertainer in this sport. Most of his
opponents absolutely despise him, because he's the type of guy that says
and does things that will really piss you off. He's tall, although not
tall for a wrestler (6'3, 250lbs), very handsome, and loves to show off
his money by driving fancy cars, wearing fancy clothing and jewelry.
In the ring, he is a true athlete, very well conditioned and never gives
up. However, he will do ANYTHING to win and he has in the past bend
or flat out broken the
rules to achieve victory.
Theme Song: "Go NY Go NY Go" The theme song
at Madison Square Garden for The New York Knicks
What would you do if you met OJ Simpson in a dark alley? | Well being that myself and OJ Simpson are good friends, it really wouldn't be any major problem. We'd probably head to the nearest club and have ourselves a good time. |
Who/what has been your biggest influence? | Patrick Ewing. He really helped me out in making my adjustment into the NBA in my rookie season and as a result, we won 10 straight championships! From a wrestling standpoint, Lord Awesome. He's the one that got me out of the EECW and got me a contract with the ASW, thus making me the wrestling legend that I am today. |
What is the worst thing that happened to you in your youth? | I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in the eight grade
and my school made it to the City Finals. We were playing against
this team in Brooklyn and they were talking MADD garbage! Well, when
it came time to play the game, I was absolutely on fire! I was hitting
3 pointers from left and right. I don't know how many I made, but
I know I hit a lot! Anyway, we were down by 1 point and with 1 second
remaining, I got fouled. I had 69 POINTS, in that game. Two free throws. Make one and we tie the game and go into overtime. Make both and we win it. I missed BOTH free throws and we lost! It was one of the worst experiences that has ever happened to me. But it was good though, because it gave me that winning desire that I have to this day. |
What is the worst pain you ever felt in your life? (physical/emotional) | When I was in high school, I got shot in my leg. I was playing in a street league and there was a lot of money involved in the game. There was this big drug dealer/hustler type named Fat Cat and he wanted me to throw the game. I refused and he shot me in my leg. It hurt like Hell! |
If you could meet one person, at any point in history, who would it be? What would you say to them? | I would want to meet Bob Cousy and play him one on one! He's a great player and I would have loved to play against him. |
Boxers or briefs? | Boxers. But only Knick Man Championship Boxers! |
What is the greatest thing you've ever achieved? | Definetly winning my 10 NBA Championships. |
What are your favorite and least favorite foods? | My favorite food is fried chicken. My least favorite is pork. |
Favorite musicians/songs? | All types of music. I can listen to almost ANYTHING! |
Favorite movie? | Hoop Dreams. It's the story of my life. |
If you had one wish, what would it be? | More wishes of course! |
Where do you see yourself in 10/20/50 years? | Let's see, 10 years, I will probably be finished wrestling and I would be playing golf for the PGA! Tiger Woods don't got a thing on me baby! 20 years, I'll probably be retired, sitting back on some exotic island that I brought just chilling. 50 years? I'll probably be dead. I would be almost 80 in 50 years, and you can't keep someone as great as I am around for 80 years |
If you went to McDonalds and found a rat in your burger, what would you do? | You would never catch The Knick Man in McDonalds! Unless of course they hired me to do some advertising for them! |
What would you do if someone broke into your home? | Can't happen with my state of the art security! |
If you weren't wrestling in the AICW, what would you be doing? | Either wrestling somewhere else or playing Golf! |
Worst job you ever had? | Back in High School, I use to have to go door to door delivering circulars to peoples houses. It sucked! I had dogs chased after me! People yelled at me and made fun of me. I felt like a complete idiot! |
Assuming there is a God, what will you say to him when you die? | I'm HERE!!! |
What do you always keep in your fridge? | Food, drinks, nothing special. |
What do you look for in a mate? | Intelligence, beauty, and a good personality. |
If you could freeze all time and motion, what three things would you do? | 1. Save the world or something cool like that!
2. Have that punk Nicky De Niro arrested and thrown in jail where he belongs! 3. Go back to basketball and win 10 more NBA Championships! |
